Why do we send the wrong truck to the wrong job so often?
Right crew. Right materials. First time.
Between twenty-five and thirty-three percent of truck rolls at a typical utility close without the work completed. Wrong crew, wrong skill, wrong parts on the truck, wrong time window. Aria reconciles the work plan, the crew skill matrix, and the parts inventory at the moment of dispatch so the first roll closes the job.
What Aria does in Field dispatch.
- 01 / 04CapabilityPre-dispatch reconciliation
Pre-dispatch reconciliation
The forty-five-minute window between route lock and yard departure becomes useful. Crew skill, truck inventory, and work-order requirements reconcile in one check rather than at 14:30 on site.
- 02 / 04CapabilityParts-on-truck integrity
Parts-on-truck integrity
Aria reads EAM’s truck inventory against the parts list the work order will consume. When the kit is short, the truck swap happens at the yard, not after a ninety-minute drive to the customer.
- 03 / 04CapabilityForeman-approved routing
Foreman-approved routing
Recommended routes respect SLA windows and tariff commitments. The foreman approves every route; Aria does not dispatch autonomously. Local knowledge stays in the loop.
- 04 / 04CapabilityField-to-finance closeout
Field-to-finance closeout
One-touch closeout from the field collapses the two-week lag between work complete and billing cycle. The work order, the parts manifest, and the photograph land in WMS, EAM, and CIS the same afternoon.
How Aria runs Field dispatch, end to end.
- DISPATCH INTAKE
Aria reads the work plan before dispatch locks it.
She pulls the work order from the WMS, the crew skill and certification matrix from HR, the parts on each truck from EAM, and the day’s route from the scheduler. In the forty-five minutes before dispatch locks tomorrow’s roll, Aria reconciles the four.

- SKILL AND PARTS MATCH
Work type, skill, and parts in one check.
A 25kV underground splice needs a specific crew certification and a specific cable kit on the truck. Aria flags when the assigned crew lacks the certification or the truck inventory is missing the kit. The dispatcher sees the gap before the crew leaves the yard, not at 14:30 on site.

- ROUTE OPTIMIZATION
Windows, SLAs, and the foreman’s routing judgment.
Customer appointment windows, SLA commitments under the tariff, and the foreman’s local knowledge of the territory all feed the route. Aria recommends sequence changes when a dispatch would breach an SLA or strand a crew between two long drives. The foreman still approves every route.

- ONE-TOUCH CLOSEOUT
The truck closes the work order from the field.
The crew closes the order from the field with a photograph, a meter read, and the parts-used manifest. Aria reconciles the manifest against what the crew actually consumed against the truck’s EAM inventory. The field-to-finance loop closes that afternoon instead of two weeks later.

- PRODUCTIVITY EVIDENCE
First-time-complete by crew, region, and work type.
Aria tracks first-time-complete rates by crew, by work type, by region, and by foreman. She surfaces the patterns behind the averages: the night crew that closes at 92%, the veg crew running at 71% because parts are chronically off-truck. The numbers are specific; the interventions are specific.

How does Aria coexist with our existing mobile workforce management tool?
She does not replace it. The MWM, whether ClickSoftware, Oracle Field Service, ServiceNow, or an internal build, remains the system of record for dispatch. Aria reads from it, reconciles against EAM and HR, and writes the flags back into the dispatcher’s existing surface. No parallel dispatch tool. Our foremen distrust optimization engines. How is this different?
Aria does not issue routes. She recommends sequence changes when an SLA is at risk or a drive strand is avoidable. The foreman approves every route, and her recommendations cite the reason. Foremen tend to accept Aria faster than prior optimization tools because she shows the why, not just the what. What does ’first-time-complete’ actually mean in your definition?
The work order is closed in the field with all required evidence: photograph, meter read if applicable, and parts-used manifest. No follow-up truck roll is generated for the same scope. Rework triggered by customer-caused conditions is tagged separately; it does not penalize the crew. How do you handle collective bargaining constraints on crew assignment?
The IBEW or other collective bargaining agreement governs assignment. Aria reads the work rules from your HR system and respects them in the match logic. Cross-crew assignments flagged as CBA-sensitive route to the foreman and the labor relations contact before the dispatch is locked. Can this work for gas operations, not just electric?
Yes. The same reconciliation pattern applies to gas leak-repair crews, service-line replacement, and meter-set work. The skill matrix is different; the reconciliation logic is identical. Several of the composites we reference combine electric and gas operations. What happens when the work plan itself is wrong?
The wrong work order is the most expensive truck roll of all. Aria does not fix the work plan; she surfaces the pattern. When the same address generates three work orders in a month, or a storm-damage ticket conflicts with a scheduled NGP span, the scheduler sees the conflict before the truck rolls.Does Aria track crew productivity individually?
Aria reports first-time-complete rates at the crew level because the pattern is operationally meaningful. She does not surface individual-operator metrics in a performance-evaluation frame. Labor relations reviewed our reporting pattern before we released it into production.
Right crew. Right materials. First time.
